Britain and the Euro

The new European currency, the Euro, has now arrived! In years to come, it may well challenge the dollar as the world reserve currency. It is certainly going to speed up the process toward a United States of Europe! But what is the real PURPOSE of the Euro?

The new European currency, the Euro, has now arrived! In years to come, it may well challenge the dollar as the world reserve currency. It is certainly going to speed up the process toward a United States of Europe!

But what is the real PURPOSE of the Euro? Many international analysts have acknowledged that the real objective is political rather than economic! Weary of tendencies among his own people toward extreme nationalism and militarism, the recent Chancellor of Germany, Helmut Kohl, wanted to create a European economic union as the first step toward a full political union of the nation states of Europe. The French have taken the lead in joining Germany in this endeavor. Between them, France and Germany control about 55% of the European economy.

WHY has Britain been the odd man out? England, with its past colonial empire, has never been closely allied economically with continental Europe. But there is another reason: RELIGION. The British have always been suspicious of the Catholic powers of Central Europe. For that reason and to preserve the military balance of power, Britain has traditionally backed away from close alliances with the continental nations.

Increasingly, many British writers and analysts are now beginning to speak out against the danger of being "swallowed up" by the nations of continental Europe through the coming economic and political mechanisms now beginning to be put in place. They fear this would cause Britain to lose her lifestyle, her national church and her "freedom of religion" plus the ability to fully control her own destiny in all of these areas.

Will the British way of life be swallowed up by the continental nations? Will the Church of England and the religious freedoms in Britain become a thing of the past?

These are "key issues" to "watch" very carefully as these events unfold over the next several years. For they will ultimately affect your life and your future
