The "Voice of Old"

Comment on this article

As we have seen the Middle East ignite over the past several weeks, it would be interesting to write to the leaders of Egypt and the other countries experiencing these unrests and to give them the warning of the “Voice of Old."

To the leaders of Egypt and the other countries of the Middle-East:

A long time ago, a leader of Egypt came to witness the power of a Being that was foreign to him. This Voice said to him, “Now if I had stretched out My hand and struck you and your people with pestilence, then you would have been cut off from the earth. But indeed for this purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth” (Exodus 9:15–16).

Many years later, another leader of an empire was given the same warning. King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream of which the Prophet Daniel gave the interpretation. At the end of his explanation, Daniel provided the king with a powerful warning, “This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king: They shall drive you from men, your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make you eat grass like oxen. They shall wet you with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, till you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses” (Daniel 4:24–26).

On the 21st of November, 1981, Mr. Hosni Mubarak met with a man called, Herbert W. Armstrong, who, at that time, told him that peace in the Middle East would not come from man, but from the return of Jesus Christ and the establishment of the Kingdom of God. After that meeting, Mr. Armstrong wrote in The Plain TRUTH of February, 1982, part of the conversation that he had with Mr. Mubarak: “The insolvable problems, troubles and sufferings are caused by a wrong way of life. But humanity has never learned the only way of life that can CAUSE happiness, peace and the rich blessings that are spiritual in nature. That way of life is God’s way of life … we humans cannot bring peace by our own effort. But God will intervene and send Christ in all supreme power and glory of the creator God, to set up the Kingdom of God, the super divine nation to rule all nations with God’s way of life. And that will cause world peace, contentment, happiness, joy, and bring Eternal life.”

The Voice of Old is the same yesterday, today and forever; it does not change. The Almighty God has declared from the foundation of the world what will come to pass (Isaiah 46:9–10). God’s plan will not be thwarted. He told us long ago that the Middle-East would not know peace and that you and the nations around you will at one point unite, Jerusalem will be surrounded by armies and that the city will be divided in two.

The “Voice of Old” has declared it; all these things will come to pass so that you will know that He is God. As you see your countries and the ones beside you go into upheaval, it is interesting to see that some people are looking to God for understanding. On the front page of the Toronto Star of Tuesday, February 22, 2011, the title declares a citation of a source in Libya, describing what is occurring there:  “God knows the outcome.” An extraordinary declaration, which indeed rings absolutely true! God Almighty does have the answers and you will see the result of His purpose come to life in the coming years.

Gentlemen, the prophecies of the Bible are real, they have come to pass in the past and they will come to pass in the future. The “Voice of Old” cannot lie and will bring about the solution that you and the rest of humanity can never achieve:

World Peace!

Sincerely,

The “Voice of Old”
