What is happening to the United States and Great Britain? These two nations, along with their Anglo-Saxon cousins, have dominated the world for the last 200–400 years. Yet, today, these nations are degenerating morally, divided politically, confused religiously and in deep trouble financially. In the eyes of the world, these affluent, once-dominant countries are seen as nations in decline. Few seem to understand what has led to this dramatic decline. However, ancient Bible prophecies that are coming alive today pinpoint an important cause!

We are witnessing a growing and increasingly belligerent anti-God movement in nations that previously claimed to be “Christian”—and that once acknowledged God as the source of their blessings. Many “progressive” thinkers view this secular movement as enlightened, modern and liberating—as an idea whose time has finally come. Only a few, who study their Bibles, realize that Scripture long ago foretold the emergence of this movement. Bible prophecies that are coming alive today reveal the serious consequences that will strike those peoples who despise God and ignore the lessons of history.

Bible prophecy lists numerous signs that will precede Jesus Christ’s second coming, but the Apostle Paul specifically notes two major events that will occur just before Christ returns. He writes, “that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition” (2 Thessalonians 2:3). Paul tells us that the appearance of this “man of sin” on the world stage will be accompanied by “signs, and lying wonders” performed by a false religious leader using Satan’s power (2 Thessalonians 2:9). This display of supernatural demonic power will deceive millions into following this Satan-inspired individual and the system he is promoting.

For the last few centuries, nations in Europe and North America dominated the world and exported their “Christian” culture around the globe. Yet, in recent years—and accelerating in this 21st century—these once-powerful countries have begun to crumble from within!
