Christ is called the Prince of Peace. Jesus Christ preached peace. Many think that He came to bring peace on earth. But, right up to present times, no true or lasting peace exists on earth. There is only continuous war. Did Christ fail in His mission to bring peace to this world?
The world is fraught with dangers of every description: robberies, murders, rapes and assaults occur in every venue, whether school classrooms and hallways, places of work, store parking lots, sidewalks, highways or homes. We all need a protective shield.
Watching the news is like watching one long disaster movie. One wild fire follows another, destroying hundreds of homes and thousands of wooded acres. One flood follows another, washing away everything in its path. The intensity and frequency of disasters is increasing.
Many things will happen when Christ returns. One will be the resurrection of the dead. But ask yourself this: Why is it necessary to have a resurrection of the dead if dead Christians are right now in heaven?
People misread things all the time. Instructions say “do this,” but they read “do that” because they are distracted or simply misread the instruction for what they hope it says.
What do you worship, and how? Many people profess belief in God, or in many gods, and worship them in countless ways. But consider for a moment: Do you worship the true God of all creation or an idol? That question might be harder to answer than you think.
“Idols?” you may ask. “I have no idols! I would never worship a physical object as a god!” you may declare. But are there any “false gods” lurking in your mind of which you may not even be aware?
